The Full Story
Kally: My name is Kally, and I was in an accident a little over three years ago, and I was with my best friend at Chili's. We were leaving the restaurant, and we were both hit by the car, and I was also run over.
Irene F., Kally's mother: She was hit while the car was going in reverse. She went up in the air, landed on the trunk of the car, and her face went through the windshield, the rear windshield. She was dragged for 80 feet while her face was being cut up.
She was in the trauma unit. They thought that she had brain damage or spinal cord injury or both. Luckily, she didn't have that, but what she did have was two broken bones in her neck, a broken nose, a broken tooth, a broken shoulder, broken back. Her ribs were crushed, and her spleen was squished.
Mark Roman took care of my daughter's medical needs, thank God. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be able to pick up the telephone. My daughter would be in debt for the rest of her life, and he made sure that she got all the medical care she needed. And they never made me feel like I was bothering them if I needed to call and ask a question. Always listening, taking their time- or I should say, giving us time to understand- explaining everything to us.
Because of Mark Roman of Roman and Gaynor [now Roman Austin], I was able to not worry about bills, not worry about collection agencies, and concentrate on getting my daughter well.
Kally: They weren't looking to make money off of me or anything like that. They were actually looking to help me and to make sure that I would be fine after the accident.
