Cyclist Injured in Delivery Driver’s Turn, Extensive Recovery and Litigation Ensue

Cyclist Crash Case. The client was riding his bicycle on Gulf Boulevard in a designated bike lane. A delivery driver without warning turned into his lane striking the cyclist and knocking him to the ground. He suffered neck and back injuries but the main injury was a fractured clavicle and scapula that required hospitalization and surgery. Ultimately he required a second surgery to remove surgical hardware. Law enforcement did not cite the driver and the defendant denied liability, however after extensive litigation and retaining an expert engineer to perform an accident reconstruction we were able to resolve the case for a significant recovery.
